Anyone who wants to further their career in the Information Technology industry would benefit to having a Microsoft Server Certification. While this is not a necessity, the certification makes it easier to find a job and to get a promotion through an employer. Many companies will actually pay for the coursework and exam fees for their employees who want to be certified. It only benefits the company because the employee is more knowledgeable.
The only downside to these Microsoft certifications is that they do not last a lifetime and those who want to keep up with technology need to pass new exams. As long as the technology is valid, so is the certification, once the technology is considered obsolete, the certificate is worthless. This is because the technology changes to meet the demands of customers so new testing keeps those who hold certificates relevant to this new technology.
The Microsoft latest certification exam came out in 2012 and offers students exams on the latest technologies in the networking formats. All Microsoft certifications that were awarded from 2008 and earlier were considered obsolete in July of 2012 and the cost of re-certification or certification is between one hundred and two hundred dollars. The cost is not very expensive and can easily be covered without getting yourself into debt. It is just a matter of a few months of saving and then you will be able to put yourself up for taking the Microsoft Server Qualification.
