Anybody can put something on a shirt and sell it. I know that is a weird way to start a review, but its true. Adding an image to a shirt without thought should be a crime. Especially since there are so many people out there that consider clothing more than just something to cover you. To some, it’s a statement. The Chop Shop is definitely making a statement. From first glance at their website www.chopshopstore.com, you can’t help but be submerged into their world of fantasy. Well, I shouldn’t say fantasy. I will just say, it’s a group of people getting together to create something that they think is simply “cool”.
Just recently, I was giving the opportunity to check out a couple of shirts from their collection. Upon review, I really didn’t know what to expect. I guess I was just looking for a story. Answer to questions that consist of concepts, colors, material, design, etc. Ultimately, figuring out the reason why I should become a buyer, instead of just a “web window shopper”.
So as I take the Dapper Men Tee (silver color) into my hands and examined its design with images of 141 facial features, I sit back and grin. Trying to figure out which face looks like mine and noticing that each face is different. So the big test, wearing it out to see if it’s noticeable. Being that it is Mid November in Ohio where temperatures are high 30’s in the morning to low 40’s in the afternoon, I felt that this test was needed. So as I step in to the grocery store down the street, a kid (13-14 yrs old probably) immediately saw the shirt and said “Look! He got faces on his shirt!” I just smiled and laughed, thinking to myself-that it’s definitely an eye-catcher. Its one of those shirts that makes strangers want to get up close to you just to see the details of it. Oh, and did I mention that its 100% cotton and tag-less?
The inside tag to the garment is missing but replaced with the Chop Shop logo and design. I have never really been a big fan of inside tags in t-shirts, mainly because it tends to irritate my skin so I was definitely happy to see that I wouldn’t need to use my scissors to remove it.
The other shirt is an undeadWe (charcoal color) tee that is from the Horror/Fantasy collection. Now what’s unique about this shirt is that it brings 51 images that consist of ghost, zombies, mummy’s, spirits, to create a skull. Perfect for this past Halloween season, but good to wear anytime especially if you are a Horror Flick enthusiast. This shirt is also 100% cotton and feels good to the skin just as the previous shirt. These two shirts is merely the tip of the iceberg. There are a slew of other shirts that will grasp your attention. Another one of my favorites is the robotRock tee, which consist of a robot slamming a guitar. Its companies like The Chop Shop that makes me proud to wear t-shirts on an everyday basis, mainly because it allows me to display my individuality. Tell the world what I feel without actually saying it. So with that said, visit and support The Chop Shop not just to add another t-shirt to your collection, but to bring variety to a wardrobe that may have become bland due to a conservative lifestyle.
