The number 13 is significant in most cultures.
For example, let’s take Friday the 13th, which is not only a cult horror movie, but for some reason is also the busiest day of the year for many tattoo parlors. In mainland China they choose to skip the number 13 in highrise building elevators for superstitious reasons. It goes without saying, that there’s no other number around that holds such superstitious powers as the number 13.

For Chris, the founder of Thirteen Clothing, 13 is a lucky number. Thirteen Clothing began its life on the glorious Gold Coast, Australia (yep, probably reason #1 for being considered lucky). Chris has designed and screen-printed a limited run of ultra soft cotton tshirts in his studio, each uniquely depicting the number 13.

The influences behind Thirteen are, of course, related to the appeal of the number itself. That said, there is also a distinct undertone of skate influence (with the minimalist, monochromatic colourways and distressed designs), plus a dash of quirkiness and humour thrown in for good measure. We’ve been told the horse head will be outdone in the next Thirteen Clothing photoshoot, so keep an eye on the website in the coming months for a some more intriguing shots of the Thirteen range.
