Ok, you’ve probably noticed the title of this post and just thrown your hands into the air screaming “what is this TiECON thing…has Jake finally lost the plot from inhaling too many fresh cotton fumes”?
Well I cannot deny that I haven’t lost the plot…but that probably happened ages ago.
I like the word TiECON - for two reasons:
1. It bares some extremely sparse resemblance to our favourite component of the English grammatical set, the word Tshirt
2. It’s an intriguing organisation promoting and educating thousands on the art of entrepreneurship and start-up businesses

So anyhow, TiECON is running a competition for all budding bloggers out there who want to see their hard work showcased at the TiECON 2008 Conference.
All you have to do is publish a post highlighting the key factors of your site’s success:
For tshirtalert.com, our success has been largely attributed to organic placement in search engines such as Google, for keywords related to some really obscure tshirt niches.
What does that mean to the average punter? In a nutshell, tshirtalert.com appears on the first page of Google for some truly random search terms. For example, whack “slap the goon” into Google and sure enough, tshirtalert.com will make an appearance.
The other tool that contributes to this blog’s success is word of mouth. Cutting edge fashion is produced and monitored by a tight-knit community of conneisseurs. Established designers who comprise the tshirt niche of the fashion industry are even more protective of their artform, mainly due to the fact that swarms of underqualified and overzealous little punks are trying crack the industry without earning their stripes. We like to think that tshirtalert.com takes a grass-roots perspective of the industry, promoting fresh and deserving talent and communicating it to an audience who actually. I could be mistaken though, so let me know (using the comments feature below) if you beg to differ.
So there you have it. Tshirtalert.com is advocating and entering the TiECON Blogpreneur Contest 2008 at the same time. Is that a legal move? Who cares….I enjoy writing, and you obviously enjoy reading.
If you’re a blogger, share the love and pass on the details of this fine contest to your mates. If you’re just waiting for the latest tshirt news, sit pretty for another 30 minutes and I’ll deliver a steaming hot little something to your curb your tshirt appetite, complete with double pepperoni.
