The Travelling Shirt is the first item of clothing that every young travel-hungry person should pack as their ultimate around-the-world travel companion.

Why?
Not because it’s made of soft and breathable cotton, perfect for that sweaty trek through Bangkok’s grimy backstreets .
And nup, not because it is the swiss army knife of all t-shirts, with 72 different hidden pockets to conceal your passport, travellers cheques, international drivers license, room key, weapons and an obligatory Mars Bar for emergency situations.
And definitely no, not because of its ridiculously dependable backpacker pick-up potential (although Michael and Joel may soon prove otherwise!).

Two young Aussies from Sydney, Michael Karbouris and Joel Duckworth, will be donning The Travelling T-Shirt very soon on their trip across the globe. And this little ripper of a t-shirt will hopefully be financially supporting their whole trip.
I know, how the @#$% do you get a shirt that turns to you at every bar in London and says “No, I insist, it’s my shout…again”.
Read this ingenuis concept to find out…
..it all started when we recently decided we wanted to go on a world trip, but our wallets didn’t agree. So we thought “How can we get paid to travel the world?”. It had to be a win-win situation for all involved, and soon an idea was born in the form of The Travelling Shirt! The idea is simple - We take a special shirt around the world with us. This shirt will be printed with your company logo, advertising, or pretty much anything else you want potentially millions to see, and photographed it in all the countries we go to. We’ll post the photos of us wearing the shirt on our website in our blog, with an update on where we are and what we’re doing. Success for those who advertise on the shirt comes from the amount of visits that people pay to our website. The more spaces we sell, the more money we get for our world trip. The more money we get for our world trip, the more people will visit the website. The more people visit our website, the more exposure for our sponsors, and the more spaces we sell!

The concept of The Travelling Shirt is in a similar vein to a site by the name the Million Dollar Homepage. On this site, a young American bloke sold individual pixels as advertising space so that he could make a cool $million$ to “pay his college fees”. The hype that this site created meant that it received hundreds of thousands of hits per day…and consequently hundreds of thousands of dollars went into his college education piggy bank.
Similarly, The Travelling Shirt is selling allocated advertising space, but this time, on a t-shirt rather than a webpage.
While all sit at our computers, cursing and thumping our fists on the keyboard for not thinking of this idea ourselves, Michael and Joel’s travel allowance continues to rise (you can view the current balance if you scroll to the bottom of this page on their website). Good luck guys!
